It’s that time of year – well actually, we’re a little bit late planning this year – to think about our family summer holiday trip for 2024. We’re planning on staying ‘local’ so no long-haul destination for us this year, but we’re not in the slightest bit disappointed when Europe has a treasure trove of family-friendly holiday spots right on our doorstep. We have so much more to explore in Europe and so we thought we’d share some of the destinations that have made our list of options for those of you looking for ideas.

Whether you’re looking for sun-soaked beaches, educational city breaks, or adventurous outdoor activities, we think there’s something for everyone. Here’s the list!

1.City break: Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is a vibrant city that combines beach fun with rich cultural experiences. Families can enjoy the beautiful beaches, explore the whimsical architecture of Antoni Gaudí, and visit the interactive science museum, CosmoCaixa. The city’s parks, such as Parc de la Ciutadella, offer plenty of space for picnics and play.
